I sign this petition because the people who saved me and my husband's life's support it and I'm also fed-up about govements' which hunts on caring people.

The healthcare industry should be about optimizing the health of patients, not maximizing the profits of pharmaceutical and device companies, or even of hospitals, lab companies, doctors or anyone else involved in the industry. Iatrogenic illness, overprescribing, over investing, inappropriately investigating, underinvesting, and other problems within the healthcare system need to be highlighted and addressed, not hidden. We need more transparency and openness about everything in healthcare. Patients are supposed to be able to make informed decisions about treatments, and should be able to decide whether any treatment or no treatment is the right option for them, but how can they do this in an atmosphere where deceipt runs deep, negative trials remain unpublished, doctors are unable to critically appraise research (especially study designs), and institutions tasked with research and treating patients have financial conflicts of interest from profiting from work with drug companies, device manufacturers and labs. Whistleblowers need to be protected, not punished. Fraudulent research needs to be challenged. It is not just the fate of one man in the balance here. The integrity of modern conventional healthcare is very much in question, in particular that of your own institution, if this is how you deal with dissenting voices. Patients need strong advocates like Peter Gøtzsche. He deserves awards, not bullying.

Peter Goetzsche has been unjustly treated and this wrong must be rectified. The most sacred tenets of science are at stake.

I an a U.S. citizen, and I attended a semester of college in Denmark. I remember how delightful the open and informative debates were among my Danish housemates. Please, don't shut down those debates. Tak.

Transparency is necessary to enable every person to make informed decisions when it comes to their health. It is utterly disappointing that scientists who are researching and publishing the complete results of their studies are at risk of losing their position and their valued voice.

He is the most honorable man. Dismissing him for being honest is disgusting and should be an embarrassment to the person(s) who enforced it.

Gotzsche´s dismissal would be an incredible sign of weakness for such a strong organisation as Cochrane. Critical colleagues should be tolerated not silenced. Goetzsches basic assumptions in all the years were mostly true, never destructive.
