Letter to Danish Minister of Health against dismissal of Peter Gotzsche

In support of transparency, rigorous research and evidence based medicine.

This man is a Hero !!!

I support this petition to the fullest extent.

The International Society of Drug Bulletins (ISDB) is alarmed by this upcoming event which is a tragedy for independent research and especially drug research. It is widely recognised the a lot of drugs do more harm than good and Peter Gotzsche is a briljant scientist in ucovering this and thereby protecting patients interest. In civilized countries there must be a balance of pro's and con's regarding people defending and attacking drug safety and harms.

Please reinstate Peter Gotzsche. We need someone who speaks the truth and doesn’t tow the line dictated by Large Pharma

An honest scientist with great integrity must be allowed to question and publish what they truly believe without fear of detriment to their career and lifetime work How will we ever know the real scientific truth if there are those that are willing to skew, ignore or blinker themselves from the facts for political or financial reasons we will never get the genuine results. With huge integrity, Peter is trying to protect the public and the reputation of the scientific community in his work.

As a psychiatric patient, I have experienced the downsides of medicine. I have had suicidal thoughts due to medicine, that is mental torture. Peter speaks against this. I love him for it.

Peter Gotzsche has made an enormous, sustained contribution to science and global health for many years. His dismissal will reflect as badly, if not worse, on his accusers, and will give succour to 'bad science' and vested interests. It will be a stain on Denmark's good reputation.

He has a right to his retirement he is a good doctor professional knowledgeable capable and there during the good times and bad

Dr Gøtzsche has very valid concerns about medical research and the influence of the pharmaceutical business who have the power to distort the facts. We need more people like him in the world, not fewer!!

It is vital going forward that unbiased science remains at the core of public health. Should this be diluted then the powerful world of corporate influence and self interest will corrupt everything.

Silencing criticism not by argument, but by acts of power, do not bode well with neither science, nor open societies.

The dismissal of Peter Gøtzsche would be wrong, and an enormously backward step in the benefit for patients and for open scientific debate.

We need people who have the courage to speak their truth.

Critics should never be silenced if we want to keep our societies open and agile.
