Fr Steve Emanuel was our parish priest, taught at Pope John in Elgin where our children attended, and coached our daughter's basketball team. Later on she chose to attend marriage preparation classes with her husband under the direction of Fr Steve.
We have the utmost respect for him as a priest and agree that it is a great loss every day he is not able to serve the catholic church.

Fr. Steve is the best Priest I’ve ever known. He made such an impact on EVERYONE during his time at our high school and a lot of us had him marry us. Because we wanted in to be a part of our marriage sacrament.

Fr. Steve was doing an excellent job and while he was not here at St. Francis long, he is missed and everyone in the parish and surrounding area would welcome him back in a heartbeat. I hope and pray you take these things into consideration in possibly overturning his absence.

I fully respect the efforts of the Church to keep all our youth safe. Their safety is paramount and above all else. However I feel in this case, a good man and priest is paying a price for the past sins of others and not his own actions.

Please consider reinstating Fr. Steve to Humphrey St. Francis/LHF. We really like him and he’s so good with the kids. I felt very fortunate to have such good priests to run all the parishes.

Father Steve was my pastor and high school religion teacher and coach. He had the greatest impact on my catholic faith. He had a huge positive impact on my high school and community. Father Steve filled churches, collection baskets and people’s hearts. The greatest priest I have and will ever meet. I would consider leaving the Catholic Church if he was not reinstated as a priest.

Father Steve continues to model Christ as he humbly and honestly cooperates with the investigation, with more concern for his parishioners than himself. I witnessed this selflessness directly during the pandemic. I had assumed that I would not be able to receive communion for quite some time due to a gluten restriction. I will forever be grateful that Father Steve made it possible for me and other gluten sensitive parishioners to receive an individual cup. Praying for his return to public service.

Father Steve was instrumental to my faith journey growing up. He was not only my religion teacher but track coach and a mentor. There is so much bad in the world, we need mode people like Father Steve, who has nothing but good and love for Jesus and His people in his heart.

Fr. Steve Emanuel was instrumental in my decision to be baptized into the Catholic Faith. He gave me guidance and provided me with various resources to help me in my exploration and the expansion of my knowledge of the faith. Fr Steve has also inspired me to continue my quest for knowledge and I have always found a comfort in knowing that he is always there to continually guide me on my journey of faith.
