Father Steve is an amazing person. I wasn’t always the best behaved kid in school but he was always there to guide me and my classmates as an amazing teacher, coach, and friend. A few of my classmates and I even went to visit him after he had moved to a different location because he had a positive impact on our lives and we enjoyed being around him and having meaningful conversations with him.

After hearing the story, this is a horrible thing to do to him. It has gone too far!

Father Steve is beyond one of the best additions to our community.!! He is what brings us together and without him we are lost and heartbroken.

The Archdiocese has to start standing up for our priests before we lose them all. Priests feel like no one has their back.

Father Steve taught me in high school and also met with me and my wife in time of marital need. I personally can’t understand how any of this has happened. Please let this man do what he was called to do. Thank you

For Steve has impacted our lives and our children’s lives beyond belief. Our parish would not be what it is today without Fr Steve!

Fr. Steve is yet another priest to be removed from the people of this Archdiocese. Yes, he is most definitely a good, holy priest..(which seems to be the criteria for removal, these days). We are to give the same mercy that we have received. Unfortunately, this doesn’t hold true for our priests. The people are to be shown mercy by our priests, through our priests. Yet, when our priests do something wrong (or are accused of wrongdoing)… OFF they go!…. NO mercy for them! They are unjustly sentenced to banishment!… from their ministry, from their people, their home, their community. This is WRONG. This situation (different details) happened to you, Archbishop. You were not removed from ministry as they investigated, you were not publicly scandalized, you didn’t lose everything. You were treated justly during your own trial. How can you allow your priest sons to endure what you were spared? When no criminal activity is found, that should be the end of it. That is how justice works for the people! When a priest’s reputation is destroyed by the media… (priests that are not guilty of criminal wrongdoing) then, you should restore their ministries AND their reputations! This is an all out assault on the priesthood! If misconduct has happened, then a consequence is appropriate…. but NOT permanent removal of ministry. The sentence does NOT fit the crime! Again, we are called to be merciful. You were shown mercy. I’m glad you were. Now, please extend that same mercy to Fr. Steve and the others who have been permanently removed.. Consequences are good when they are just. None of the recent ‘permanent removals’ have been necessary. This is being lived out because of fear. Fear is from the Evil One. Love and Mercy are from God. Please, again, have courage to make the just decision (which God has placed in YOUR hands) and give us back our priests! We need absolution, we need the Eucharist… with the permanent removal sentences, WE, your people, are going to suffer in the long run!

Fr Steve is a wonderful priest and human being. You will not find another person who is more honest, upstanding, kind, and a spiritual influence in every life he comes in contact with. You you not find a better Priest then Fr Steve to guide our young youth in the Catholic School system. I will say my prayers for him and the communities that this will effect.

My daughters and I have the utmost respect and admiration for Fr. Steve. In their years of Catholic education, he was the most influential person in their spiritual growth. All respect him as he lives what he preaches. He helped all of us through a very difficult time when my husband died, I would not emotionally or spiritually be where I am today without the guidance and listening ear of Fr Steve. Words from the homily of my husband's funeral gave me great strength in the days following his death and still comfort me, that the cross and resurrection were the truth; because of these words from Fr Steve, in stressful times, I look at crucifix and gives me great strength. I repeat the same words to you Fr Steve, "the truth is in the cross". The Catholic Church and the Archdiocese needs more people like Fr Steve

Fr. Steve serves our parish around 2004. The kids loved a respected. We all did! He got the kids through a tough time with the loss of a classmate. He also baptized my grandchildren. We were so blessed to have him in our parish and to baptize some of my grandchildren.
