Fr Steve has been a significant influence in our lives as he was a teacher and priest at both my high school and my wife’s high school, as well as the presiding over our wedding. I wish nothing but the best for him and wish him the best for the chance to continue his vocation and influence others in the positive manner that he influenced us.

Our oldest children had Fr. Steve at Scotus in Columbus. He is an honorable, holy, faithfilled, humble servant of God & His people. This is very concerning that this is happening to such an exceptional priest. Please do the right thing & return him to the service of his people.

My family has known Fr. Steve for over 20 years. Fr. Steve was pivotal to my personal faith formation and return to the Catholic Church. He guided my now-husband through RCIA, married us, baptized our children and became a dear friend. I learned more about my faith from Fr. Steve in my post-college years than I did in 18+years of Catholic education from elementary school through college. He gave us tough questions and honest answers to make us better followers of Christ. If it weren’t for Fr. Steve’s loving guidance toward Christ, in all likelihood, we would not be active participants in our church family today. To say Fr. Steve’s removal from ministry is devastating, is an immense understatement. We are better because of God’s work through him. We pray for all involved, and hope Fr. Steve’s return to ministry is imminent.

I can’t believe the archdiocese is doing this to Father Steve he has had a positive influence on Catholic and non Catholic people in every community he has served He is very humble and honest person He would never do anything to harm another person

Father Steve was incredible with helping this (non-catholic) Christian go through the pre marriage counseling classes. I was very apprehensive at first, and he not only helped me eventually warm to the process, I felt like I made a life long friend too. In the end, I wouldn’t have wanted to do those classes with anyone else. He helped my now super strong marriage start off with the right building blocks.

Fr. Steve has always been there when I needed him, whether that be as an adult, or as an 8th grader. What he has done to help students understand and keep youth in the church goes without saying. Prayers to you Father Steve in your time of need as you have always done for me.

Top notch priest. Changed a decades old tradition of having graduation during a graduation mass at Scotus. We (the Seniors) hated it at the time, but now viewing it through the lens of an adult Catholic, it was a brave, correct choice.
