What is going on here? There should be more public discussion among the membership before the fundamental structure of an organization is changed in a fundamental way.

How ironic that AACE was initiated as an organization by clinical endocrinologists for clinical endocrinologists at a time when the Endocrine Society had abandoned we clinicians in favor of "academic research". Now it appears that our own AACE is contemplating a similar abandonment.

The roots of AACE started essentially as a state group. Do not under cut your strength.

Who is the bully that is trying to take away MY chapter, one that represents myself as a diabetologist as well as MY patients. California knows what's best for our chapter and our members. The members of California AACE share a common goal which is to educate our members so that the lives of our patients may be impacted in a positive way. We are a proud group of clinicians. Don't mess with California. We don't easily forgive!

I too am dismayed by these changes and Support the comments in this letter. I have been a proud member of AACE since 1997. I believe it is a grave mistake to defund, dismiss, and devalue the importance of our AACE members and chapter activity. I understand change may be inevitable but not if it does not meet the needs of clinical endocrinologists worldwide. It is a shame that our graduating fellows will not receive all of the wonderful benefits I experienced From AACE in the past. It does not appear that the current leadership values member Opinions but I suspect they value my dues. Perhaps money speaks louder than words. For this reason I plan to protest the changes by not attendIng the annual meeting. I will proudly continue to support chapter involvement. Interesting and perhaps not so coincidental how these changes coincide with the arrival of a new CEO.

I agree with the proposed points. Local AACE chapters need to be functional.

If AACE does not chance direction and continue to support the chapters they will loose me as a member

In view of COVID and all that is going on, this vote should be postponed, as should the chapter dissolution and meeting.

The local yearly AACE meetings are necessary to share information with members within states which may have different laws and regulations as well as continuing medical education. I was somewhat stunned by this decision.
