Letter to AACE Leadership re Upcoming Vote & Changes

As a former Chapter Chair, the members of the organization really relied on our relationships with National to help them navigate the medicolegal landscape of private practice which is the ostensible reason for AACE's entire existence. To dissolve chapters and the support offered is to betray the entire reason for AACE's creation.

Please at least give local AACE chapters the time to re-brand before cutting off the use of the AACE name.

Want the local chapters to be live and functioning. Having a voice to talk about the concerns of local chapters and their needs.

I agree, many subspecialties are attempting to care and mismanage endocrine patients to save money for insurance and governmental organizations facing financial ruin;largely caused by a global pandemic of "diabesity". It is critical that clinical endocrinologist and endocrine care team be supported in a appropriate manor to combat obesity ,diabetes and all other endocrine diseases. It is time that junk food ,fast food and sweet manufacturers, who help create global disease thru obesity, be held accountable for an epidemic they largely created through aggressive marketing strategies:especially to the worlds' youth. the time has come to brand AACE, support local chapters and begin the long hard struggle against the sugar industry to accept a large share of responsibility for this global pandemic of obesity -related illnesses.

The Michigan AACE local chapter is the sole reason I maintain an AACE membership.

The local chapter meetings have been one of the most helpful ways to get members and to keep them connected with one another. All politics are local and your best foot forward is to keep your local chapters active and supported.

I am a charter member. Yank spearheaded this organization for practicing clinicians. Abandoning its roots will not strengthen AACE.

Do NOT terminate the AACE relationships with the state chapters. As a 30 year AACE member, PLEASE listen to your membership, not the CEO. The direction is NOT in the best interests of your membership. Thank you, Jay

Not clear to me what additional benefit one would derive from the new AACE structure and mission, compared to what one already gets from Endocrine Society. The structure with local and international chapters was what made AACE special.

When ADA eliminated its local affiliates it stopped being an organization focused on physicians and lost local involvement and leadership. I'm afraid AACE is making the same mistake.

Chapter activities were one true success of AACE. I’m opposed to the proposed changes. Ill advised at best!!

The regional chapters are crucial to functioning on a local level.

I was really caught by surprise to hear that AACE International Chapters can no longer operate under the AACE brand or identity from October 1st, 2020

Let’s save local chapters! We can preserve the state chapters in conjunction with the global expansion of AACE and its audience.

I was involved with the Foundation for several years and thus attended several AACE meetings. I saw medical professionals interacting and sharing the latest information on various endo issues. These sessions were invaluable for the care of patients. Then I saw new management arrive and the world changed with poor treatment of employees and no team spirit. I saw no reason for these changes other than this new management was focused on their own undefined interests. Patient care will suffer. Hopefully the local chapters can continue improving care via local exchanges, It is a sad day.

The role played by International AACE chapters in diffusing AACE mission worldwide has not been recognized as it should have been
