Entrepreneurial momentum benefits all businesses, and lends support to the greatest source of employment growth.
If not RAIN, what other relevant resources are provided to drive new areas of business growth? Without that growth, stagnation is inevitable, and other communities will certainly draw away key employable people.

RAIN Eugene is vital for the local entrepreneurial eco-system. The organization plays a significant role in the education of University of Oregon students in building startups and introducing them to community entrepreneurs to strengthen our 'Town/Gown' relationship. RAIN Eugene staff and mentors come regularly into my classroom and provide 'real-world' experience and advice to UO's future entrepreneurs.

We have been representing start-ups in Eugene for the past 15 years, and in the brief period RAIN Eugene has been in existence it has produced more momentum and tangible results in the local start-up space than every other program that came before it. Eugene will be taking a huge step backwards if the State of Oregon discontinues its funding of RAIN.

RAIN plays many important roles in driving the future Eugene economy, not least of which is that of community integrator. RAIN staff and volunteers connect UO, Lane Community College, non-profit organizations, and existing businesses with one another and with entrepreneurs, in support of fledgling businesses in the Eugene area. I personally am able to provide significantly more value in mentorship and advising to startups in my field thanks to the efforts of Joe Maruschak and the rest of the RAIN team. Their work is much appreciated.
