RAIN provides a critical service for the community: teaching and mentoring, as well as making all sorts of human connections possible.

As a young entrepreneur, RAIN has been instrumental in providing me and my co-workers with support as we grow our business.

The RAIN accelerators, I believe, are the critical piece of the RAIN program. They are extremely capital efficient taking less that 160K a year to run per accelerator and have had a substantial economic impact on the two regions for which they affect. I cannot overstate the impact they had on Waitrainer: I wouldn't be running the business if it weren't for my time in the accelerator!

RAIN is creating sustainable employment opportunities and recession-proof economic security in a city which needs to compete for resources with much larger cities. Taking away funding from RAIN now is extremely short-sighted and will have negative fiscal consequences to the State that are a multiple of any short-term savings.

RAIN Eugene helped our company get to where we are today. We wouldn't exist if it weren't for this program.

RAIN has become one of the biggest resources for connecting community members with the university. For such a large entity located in our community, it is hard for people on the outside to access the resources on the inside. RAIN is one of the few places that really brings together work that is happening at the university and all the amazing resources and companies right here in Eugene. It has helped us as students to transition out of the university into the community here. It also has value in helping early stage businesses get their feet off the ground, as well as grow larger ones. We have witnessed this past summer in our accelerator people from all different ages, genders, and different stages of expertise come together to help each other grow. Its truly an amazing thing, and important.

My experience with RAIN has been that of real enlightenment and growth. Throughout our company's lifespan RAIN has been an incredible source of knowledge, mentorship and community. The ecosystem that RAIN facilitates is one of shared knowledge and peer-to-peer learning. Any resources or information that we have ever needed has come directly from RAIN or as a result of being involved with the RAIN program. I cannot stress enough the impact of learning in an environment where you can go to other cohort companies/members with unique problems that your business needs to solve, having those problems addressed, and being able to share your own knowledge base with them in return. To call RAIN an "accelerator" is an understatement. Our company has grown more than any of us ever thought imaginable in a such a small window of time, and only through the RAIN program. From day one, we are taught to share knowledge and resources rather than keep them to ourselves; to grow together and create a lasting network of strong connections rather than short-term gains. Our companies feel great pride and responsibility in growing companies here in Oregon to invigorate and stimulate our great state's economic system. Small businesses have a much greater impact on local economies than larger corporations, because the money and job infrastructure stays in state. We can not imagine what our lives would look like without this program and we cannot fathom what other up-and-coming small businesses would do without a program like this. We kindly urge you to consider your continued support and funding of such an incredible and impactful program like the Regional Accelerator Innovation Network. The work that we are doing and will continue to do is an invaluable part of our growth personally, professionally and as community members.

RAIN has created an environment where entrepreneurs, young and old, can come together to collaborate in ways that would be impossible otherwise. Every ounce of support that I have received from RAIN and its constituents has helped me grow as an individual and a businessman and without it I am unsure that my co founders and I would still be together today. Growing the economy is a grassroots goal. People in our wonderful State need to believe that the American Dream is alive and real so that they go out, start their own business, create jobs, and improve our economy. RAIN facilitates exactly that. It is a support system for companies that start here and stay here; improving the well being of everyone in Oregon. I stand by it to the fullest extent that I can.

I truly believe in the value of the RAIN program, and strongly advocate for its continued funding. For me, it provided an opportunity to streamline my focus, and connected me with a wealth of mentors and supporters in the community. RAIN is providing excellent resources to the growing innovation community, and giving Oregonians a much better chance of succeeding with their businesses. This will inevitably lead to more jobs and help strengthen Oregon as a great place to live and thrive.
