I am writing in strong support of Dr. Payam Shadi. I have personally received outstanding care from Dr. Shadi and can attest to both the quality of his care and the strength of his character. Dr. Shadi's strong medical knowledge and clinical skill are matched by his compassionate bedside manner. He takes time to listen, explains medical issues clearly, and treats patients with respect and dignity. It would be a disservice to both the hospital and the community it serves to lose a doctor of his caliber.

For the past 9 years, I have worked as his nurse practitioner and witnessed firsthand his dedication and compassion for every patient. He worked days, nights, and weekends, sacrificing time away from his own family to be there for his patients. He was there for hundreds of families during their most difficult moments, and to this day, many of them still tell me how forever grateful they are to him. He is one of the most selfless and devoted physicians I have ever worked with. I will forever support him.

With over 20 yrs of medical expertise and knowledge, Dr. Shadi continues to provide his patients with the utmost care and compassion, with a touch of humor, to keep patients at ease and make them feel protected, cared for and heard - patients feel “like I’m being cared for like family.” He is a dedicated physician who enjoys his work and interacting with his patients and despite the busy schedule of being a doctor, he still calls patients (even after hours) to ease their worries overnight, answers his phone even on vacation to ensure there is no delay in patient care. Also, his colleagues constantly lean on him for his expert consultation. He has a wealth of knowledge and manages patients at various acuity levels with highest level of efficiency, competence, professionalism and expertise; he is very conscientious as well. Despite his busy work life, he still makes time for his wife/children and elderly parents. Overall, he is an amazing asset to the health care community and respected by all those who’ve worked alongside him!

we all know what this is about: this is a shakedown by a powerful hospital to get rid of community doctors in order for the hospital to hire its own hospitalist. The bigger the hospital, the more power it has to negotiate with big insurance companies. Dr. Shadi simply got too big and too busy with high volume of patients in hospital and Cedars got uncomfortable. They see his patients as loss revenue for Cedars Medical Group. They want his patients, and they pushed him out.
