Dr. Shadi has been an amazing physician to my mom & a source of comfort & hope for our family. Every time my mother has been at Cedars, he has been there for her. Dr. Shadi is more than an amazing physician, he is compassionate, dedicated, & genuinely cares about his patients. Our family has trusted Dr. Shadi with my mom’s life, time & time again, & we’ll always be grateful for the care he’s given her. Losing a doctor of Dr. Shadi’s caliber would be a tremendous loss for his patients & Cedars.

I was a patient of Dr. Shadi’s for a few years and he always took great care of me. He was always compassionate and understanding. I know he is well respected by other doctors at Cedars and always treated the nurses with respect. He was a big part of Cedars and should be back at Cedars again.

I am currently his patient, in Southern Culver hospital Patient Statement / Incident Summary
I have been admitted to this hospital since December 22, 2025. On December 23, 2025, I experienced significant pain beginning around 5:00 p.m. that continued overnight until approximately 8:00 a.m. on December 24, 2025. During this time, my pain was not adequately addressed.
My assigned physician, Dr. Shadi Payam, did not evaluate me during this period. When he eventually arrived, his demeanor was hostile, and he raised his voice at me. I felt dismissed and not taken seriously regarding my symptoms and pain.
Following this interaction, Dr. Payam attempted to discharge me despite my ongoing symptoms and bleeding. I declined discharge because I did not feel medically stable or safe to leave. I reported these concerns to nursing staff and formally requested a different physician due to loss of trust and concern about my care.
I am requesting continued evaluation, appropriate treatment, and reassignment to another doctor.

Dr Shadi is by far one of the best doctors and best humans on this planet. The amount of care and love he puts in his patients is beyond compare. He is a true physical at heart not just by trade and deeply cares for every single patient as if they are his own family. He is professional, kind, and approaches each person with the most positive attitude and the warmest bedside manner. We depend on Dr Shadi when we are cedars for our loved ones. I am truly disheartened to know he is currently not present at the hospital and eagerly waiting for his return as soon as possible. Dr Shadi was the biggest reason for us going to Cedars and we were always confident that our level of care would be outstanding when he was the physician in charge. I am more than happy and willing to speak to anyone about this matter and look forward to him being back to help the many families who truly depend on him. I am very fearful these days about the wellbeing of my family and more so Incase of an emergency without the presence of our incredible Dr Shadi.
