Letter of Support for CAMPA Charter School Expansion

This school has made a big difference in my child life, educational and behavioral. I am in full support of this expansion.

My Daughter,Laila initially was one of the founding students of CAMPA. She went on to continue at her private school & is graduating HS a year early. As a previous East NY resident, I still support your institution & continued success.

Please allow CAMPA to extend to 12th grade. Think about our children future.

I am eternally grateful to the leaders of this school and their staff. This school environment has changed the trajectory of my child's life. To encounter educators who not only have high expectations for their students but supports them and enables them to believe in themselves is rare in this community. As a parent, I feel included and aware as it relates to my child's academic process and social emotional wellbeing. We as a community need to add to the hard work, discipline, learning, commitment and life skills that are being imparted at CAMPA. We do not invest enough into our communities, this charter school unlike others are for the community and the students and families they serve. Let us not deter the growth of this school, instead we should embrace growth and work towards building the school, pooling our resources and making this school stand as the great institution we know it to be. I love their approach to education and discipline, it is needed in this community. A 6-12 grade program would allow the students of this community to be exposed to a rigorous curriculum while building crucial life skills.

CAMPA is the best school. I support them in everything that they do. It more like a family. The staff there are excellent and the put there heart and soul into there students and always wants what is best for there students. CAMPA goes hard for everyone. I would recommend CAMPA Charter School.

I Have been with CAMPA since the beginning, and have seen the wonderful changes they have made over the years. You can always count on CAMPA for anything especially when it comes to the students, and parents.

Yayy to an extension

I have worked in many schools but have not found of the calibre of CAMPA. Not only are the standards and goals reachable for the students but I have seen the worst students become the best since I came here last September, I believe it is because everyone in the school cares for the well-being of each and every student and the learning difficulties are tackled one student at a time so that each student feels special in and of themselves. Seeing the impact of this school on the lives and learning of the students has led me to believe that a school like this should really be a kindergarten to high school so that students may be enriched at every level. It would really be great of the Board of Regents grants the expansion of this school into the tenth grade so that the students who graduated last year may return to CAMPA and continue their rich learning experience. It is the least the Board or Regents can do to help some of this country's neediest citizens! Thank you for your kind consideration and support.

CAMPA Charter has brought tremendous value and impact in the East New York. This community would benefit greatly if the school was able to expand to serve high school students.

This is a great school that’s so strong in many subject areas and has great leadership. It would be wonderful to increase this schools capacity on more children can be served and helped to achieve academic excellence.

We need the 9 grade

CAMPA Charter School is committed to providing quality education. As a parent, I can confidently say my child is being educated holistically. The school have a strong sense of purpose that propels every facet of practice and decision making. They challenge the students and support them through as they navigate these crucial years of development. I support the expansion of CAMPA Charter School, this school, their mission and the leaders are what we need to advocate, support and educate our future leaders. - please vote YES to the 9th grade and beyond.

This school has been the best decision I’ve made for my child, he’s exceeded so much academically in the last year. The administration and the teacher do a lot for the children and I’m so happy that I was able to find this school for my child.

I have lived in East New York my entire life and finding good schools for my children has been the most difficult task. Finally, they attend a school that has great teachers and the best leadership. My children are performing well even during COVID. The teachers didn’t even slow down during the remote learning. I don’t know what I will do if they can’t stay for high school.

I have first hand seen the work CAMPA has done in the underserved communities in Brooklyn. To have a place where Scholars can not only get a high level education, but social and emotional learning as well, is invaluable. CAMPA’s expansion will not only benefit its students, but also the community at large.

The teachers at CAMPA are phenomenal. I’ve seen my daughter make a complete change since the 6th grade. She passed the Living Environment exam in the 7th grade and the Algebra exam in the 8th grade. Since graduating from CAMPA, she has continued to perform well in her studies. This is because of the great work of the administration and staff. If I could, I would have kept her the school for the 9th grade. CAMPA must go to high school grades!
