Both of my daughters age 11 and 9 surf. It's great exercise for them, great for gaining balance and stability.

Officer decker has written me two tickets last year for surfing too close to the pier, each time, I was beyond the 200ft rule. questioning my position and his authority only angered him to the point in which he dragged a father down the beach leaving his teenage son stranded on the beach during vacation. A group of us tried filing a formal complaint, yet it went nowhere. Hopefully this time, the perpetrator is brought to justice by the same badge and seal he wears in his chest and sleeve.

If he is the same Officer who likes to drive the police boat then he needs lots of lessons. When not bothering the surfers I see that boat joy riding very fast up and down the Croatan beach even when know one is out in the water. Wasting our tax money!!

I have been verbally disrespected by Decker in receiving a ticket from him. It's crazy to me that someone I have never met somehow knows that I am a second-class citizen because of my surfing lifestyle. Let's hope this sends a clear message!

I have had run-ins with this Officer of the Law before and he seems to say the same thing over and over and with an extreme aggressive behavior. His attitude is no way reflective of a what a public servant of the community and its people should represent.
