Elliott Smith's music not only changed my life, he ironically enough saved my life more than once. As a person who deals with depression, I don't think he gets nearly enough recognition. He didn't think he was worthy enough to be noticed here on earth. Let's give him this, ultimate honor.
Amazing Songwriter, Player and Arranger who talent got larger "missed" by the scene-focus that was Grunge...go back, listen, this man was/is an original, whose recordings stand the test of time. LEGEND
Elliott Smith is my biggest influence of all time. Nobody in the world played guitar like him or wrote songs like him. His sound is the soundtrack to so many people’s lives and he continuously inspires so many musicians with his impressive collection of work.
Elliott Smith deserves to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because he has proven to be a great composer and why many folk musicians today owe a lot of inspiration to Elliott.
One of the best songwriters to have ever lived, as recognized by so many of the artists you've already inducted. His music is timeless and as relevant today as it was when it first came out. He deserves this honor.

To anyone who wants to listen and has a brain, I grew up with the Beatles, got to see them at the Baltimore Civic Center in the mid 60s. So I hold the Beatles in high esteem and I put Elliott Smith right next to them. Those two. The Beatles and Elliott Smith. He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.
