Let's Get Alberto Willmore His Life Back!

I am speechless that this can happen in a country that boasts freedom all the time.

Cannot you sue for reinstatement?

I met this man today and was inspired! As a fellow teacher, he deserves everything back!

Does Alberto need financial help? If so, contact me and I will see that he gets a check from a retired Professor who taught for 39 years. I understand the educational system and for lack of a better description, they SUCK!

Alberto deserves his job back - he's one of the founders of The Ella Baker School after all! What's more is that he is a gem of a teacher, one with such insight and honesty that it is unparalleled in today's exceedingly corrupt world. Not only is it reproachable to deny him his life's work, but also to deny future students the honor of knowing him. Please please please give him another chance!

As a former student of Alberto I was sad to know that he was gone. That my inspiration for art was taken from me. Knowing no other teacher can push me to do things like he did and for doing things like that is reasons why he should get his job back. Wish you luck Alberto. Keep Fighting

NYDOE - you were notified of the arrest within 24 hours yet you're claiming that you need to continue to discipline the teach because he didn't notify you of the arrest in writing? I can see where that would make sense if they were arrested in another state and you would otherwise not be notified, but you were notified! Please use better judgement and give Alberto his job back.

The factors contributing to the arrest of this man are unconstitutional, immoral, and unethical. Not only should he be given his job back in addition to missed pay, but he should receive a formal apology from the New York City Police Department and the New York Department of Education. It is shameful to punish a man for an act that was never committed in the first place!

NYC Education needs a wake up call ... how many passionate teachers do they have? No, really, how many?

A good example of how the criminal justice system failed a citizen that they were supposed to protect.

Where to begin? It seems to me the leadership of the New York Department of education needs to be replaced with humans.

It's hard enough to find good teachers in the NYC school system. Not only have they ruined his life, they are taking away a much needed role model and educator from every student in Ella Baker.

It is an absolute disgrace what has happened to Mr. Willmore! Make it right!

Take away a man's meaningful purpose in life and you destroy the man. Give him back what should never have been stolen from him in the first place. Give him back his full teaching credentials and allow him his benefits as a fully licensed teacher!
