Mr. Davidson has been associated with Y&R for 45 years, 5 more than Mr. Eric Braeden, yet no one at Y&R considered giving the longest runnibg character on the show his due. What a total disgrace! The character of Paul Williams has gone from a somewhat trouble-making, sexually active teen to a beloved chief of police, a job his father would've been proud to see him in today. Paul's life has been full of love, sorrow, terror, laughter & hard work. Fans adore Paul & the man who portrays him. He (& Laralee Bell, Christian J. Le Blac & Tracey Bregman) deserve to be on the show often & not used for 5 minutes as baffoonish filler at holidays. FANS LOVE THE VETS. If today's writers cannot handle multi-generational storylines like William Bell's writers could, then they need to go back to school & learn how. (I used to write, so I DO know what I am talking about, here.)

We need/want Doug/Paul as a regular again. He is one of the lead actors that made Y&R what it is today. When you forget his 40+ year contribution to the show you’re forgetting the fans of 40+ years that have been watching because of actors like him. Don’t wipe out the seasoned cast members for a bunch of youngsters.
