While I understand bringing the show in a different direction, you can do so while keeping the veterans. Doug is a staple on Y&R. You need to listen to the longtime fans who have kept this show on air.

You want younger viewers and I get that. Doing something that will inevitably make you lose a large portion of you viewers from all demos makes no sense though. Keep Paul! The new detective needs to work his way up. Period!

As a fan of The Young and the Restless for decades, I am most unhappy with how the show is going. I want to watch the vets. I am emotionally invested in them. Letting Doug Davidson go is a travesty. 40 years down the drain. He is a fine actor and could have been used in the recent JT story. You want a new guy? Fine. Let “Paul” be the boss but don’t take him off contract. As someone who goes to every fan event, never thought I’d say this. Going to stop watching. Not interested in newbies at the expense of veterans.

Keep Doug! Forty years of loyalty to Y & R for him to be let go? You have fans that have been loyal that long and longer! Letting us go too will ruin you.

I’ve watched Y&R since it first came on. I’ve watched Doug since the first time he came on. Terrific actor! Loved him as Paul Williams! The writers are stupid to let him go. The head writers need to be fired! Bring back Paul!!!
