The powers that be need to reconsider their decision to not bring back Doug Davidson. I can't imagine a company having a valued reason to let a 40something year employee go. It is unfathomable. This is a person who dedicated his life to you and has such an enduring relationship with fans. I have been blessed to have met him. He is a dime in a dozen! He has displayed genuine connection with fans and he truly displays the love of his craft.
Realizing that your business is based on ratings and profitability, I can't imagine not having Doug Davidson would be a positive thing. Don't be a company that just throws people. It would be a waste. After all, YOU also have a 40something investment in Doug Davidson.
If there is a need for a new direction or whatever, the root cause is writing. Doug Davidson just needs meatier scripts! He has proven his ability. After all, he has won an emmy.

I have watched Y&R for 40+ years and it would not be the same without Paul! Keep the glue that holds this story together and keep Doug! This is a bad decision whoever made this choice. Seriously!

He has been a part of this show for decades. A great guy ! If you choose to let him go, your ratings will drop even more. So many of us LOVE this show and enjoy growing with these actors. They are like family.
