Literally the same thing is happening in my town. I live in Jim Thorpe Pennsylvania and the borough of Jim Thorpe made skateboarding illegal back in 2007. I'm about to do the same thing you are doing because I cant just sit back and see no one skating in my town. First time getting caught up may get a warning, but the second time you get caught you get a $300 fine. Anyway good luck, we need all the support we can get and I'm sure you guys do too!

This is a well needed skatepark for the NJ Bmx, skateboarding, and scootering community. We all have so much trouble getting to other skateparks around and a closer one would solve so many problems !!!!

Having a skatepark in a town is good for everyone involved, the skaters and the town. It keeps the town from getting messed up from our grinds and gives the skaters an opportunity to have somewhere to skate so we don’t eat kicked out of ours spots

The closest skatepark for me is a minimum 30 minutes away! Taking an hour away just to get there and back is awful, need one closer!

I’m signing this in support of the many kids I know in TR that need a safe, designated space to skate. Designated skate parks foster friendships and mentorships and bring people together from all over the age and economic spectrums. As our culture has taken a turn towards sitting on cushions behind screens, I am grateful for the determination and grit skateboarding has instilled in my non-team sports playing kid. I am optimistic that this passion for skateboarding will keep him active as he ages out of playgrounds. I enthusiastically support efforts to bring a safe space to ride for kids in any town.

Skateboarding is a great activity that keeps kids busy, teaches them to try until success and keeps them physically fit. I've been skating for 40 years now and skate parks are a great addition to any town with many positive benefits.

Skateboarding is currently enjoying a kind of renaissance as people of all ages are now enjoying the activity. It is not at all unusual these days for 5 year olds, 15 year olds, 25 year olds, 35 year olds, and yes even 45 year olds to all be enjoying the same skatepark at the same time. For the first time, skateboarding is truly multigenerational, appealing to both young and old. Further, more and more girls are taking up the practice, with plenty of companies and organizations now catering to the growing demand from women, young and old. Having said all this, skateboardings popularity is even set to increase, as it will be included in the 2020 Olympics in Japan for the first time ever! Millions of new skateboarders around the world are expected to give it a try. I encourage Toms River, the Ocean County Seat, to take a proactive, positive, leading role in catering to this growing, healthy, outdoor activity by building a skatepark! A place for all folks to practice their skills, build their confidence, put their skin in the game, get off the couch, get off the video games and get outside and get moving! It’s good for people, good for Toms River.
