im deaf myself - lost my hearing when i was 4 to meningitis but had a cochlear implant fitted. i was around deaf friends all the time when i was at school and it was easy to know what each of up was saying as we were the only ones who knew about it. its important to have it in place at all schools as children are sometimes brought up not knowing that everyone is different though they may just think that's based on skin colour and disabilities that they can see. Deafness is not easy to see by using the human eye but if a child was to learn about sign language, then they can see what sort of problems deaf people face in the world nowadays.

ive learnt level 1&2 BSL a at college I had to pay for both courses very expensive but I loved it! I've taught my daughter who is 7 a little and she loves it too. I think it would be great to get all schools primary and secondary to teach bsl!
