Every school & nhs should learn BSL. I believe they should learn BSL just like kids learned French and Spanish I don't see what's the problem about learning BSL!

I am profoundly deaf and work with the children and I believe that they should learn this as a part of their education to communicate.

I too, have no hearing in one ear and very bad hearing, in the other. I think it's a brilliant idea for children to be taught it at school. Good luck with it.

I am from Canada. I support the petitions because I am very concerned for Deaf kids' future as well. Schools for the Deaf is the best place for Deaf kids, there is providing Sign Language and helping the kids learn better in Math, English, world Lit, etc and the kids deserve it the best. Let's break the silence!!

Absolutely fantastic idea! I really hope that signing will be introduced into schools - it is such a vital language. There are loads of classes that you can take out of school to lean French/Spanish/German, but it is really difficult to find BSL/Makaton classes. Signing is just as important, so why is it not easily accessible? Make the change.
