Sororities are known to be hotbeds for racism. All too often they promote policies that seek out individuals who hold racist stances, and they allow it because of the money that they bring.
The girls have a right to have a chance to be on the right side of history; to stand in solitary with the sisters of their sorority that face these realities on a daily basis. If you’re going to support white supremacy, just come out and say it so that we can disassociate and take our money else where.

Really disappointing to be an alum of a chapter who isn’t using their voice to speak out about a basic human rights issue

As a woman who found her voice and leadership through this organization, I am absolutely appalled at Chi Omegas silence and actions to silence members. Unfortunately, like other signers, I am not surprised. Chi Omega cares too much about their image to alumni for donations and money when their attention should be towards the human beings that make up their organization.

As a Black Chi Omega Zeta Alpha alum, I find it appalling, but not surprising that Chi Omega National is not allowing chapters to speak out regarding the BLM movement.

Silencing a platform with such power and outreach that can provide resources, facts, and invites positive change, inclusion, and social justice, is quite the opposite of all the reasons I’m proud to be part of this chapter.

Black Lives Matter. This is not political. I am embarrassed to have given so much time and money to an organization that, through not only its silence but more importantly its disapproval of its members' willingness to speak up, has proved itself to be part of the problem.

“To choose thoughtfully that course which occasion and conscience demand”. The occasion and conscience demand that as sisters of Chi Omega we speak up about the inequalities facing some of our SISTERS! This is not something that should even be considered controversial.

As young professionals, caring human beings, and supporters of all inclusivity an equality, Chi Omegas should be allowed to voice their opinions and support of such a movement as BLM in this world today.
