Zaria Abdulkarim has been informed by her rotary district that she is not allowed to attend the Europe Ramble Tour of 2016 due to school attendance and feedback from adult figures. We all know being on exchange is tiring on the body and mind. Most exchange students struggle with homesickness and often need 'mental breaks' from school. Not to mention they are more susceptible to sickness due to a multitude of reason. Different climate, the body is worn thin from stress, lack of sleep, etc. Please sign this petition to help Zaria to persuade Rotary away from their decision and to allow her to attend the once in a lifetime trip that is Eurotour with her fellow exchange students in Sweden! Thank you!

I have been spending my nights on the phone trying to get someone from the district office to actually listen to what Zaria is going through. It is heartbreaking to see her missing out on memories that every other exchange student gets to keep just because she needed a few days to recover from the exhaustion of being abroad.

Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that others recognize Zaria deserves this chance to experience the tour. Every message of encouragement helps me push harder for the people who have the power to change this decision.

As a Rotary Peace Fellowship alumni, I am surprised that Rotary would restrict such a bright, motivated student from this experience. I hope that this petition can open a meaningful conversation which leads to Zaria's participation.

Sometimes Rotary does not really understand this, but school is not always the best way for us to learn new things. Yeah, maybe she missed some lessons, but she is aquiring amazing experience and knowledge no school can teach you.

I hope that the members or officers of that Rotary, don`t not belong to the I WW generations or they are not closed minded. By letting Zaria, go for that trip, they are giving her a lesson in responsibility towards her self and school responsibilities, that she will have to keep. So, their positive decision, will help not only in schooling but in her opening to other humans and bringing her up more wise.

Travel is very important education and far exceeds what can happen in a classroom. I teach college, so I know whereof I speak.

Zaria is a close friend of mine who is very responsible and deserves to have an opportunity like this; to finish her Exchange and to visit the world (just like the majority of exchange students want to accomplish). There are other exchange students who don't even go to school and get to have better experiences than Zaria who actually has this as not only a life long memory, but to help her with her future goals and career.

I can completely connect with Zaria regarding homesickness and sickness. I too missed school because of homesickness, overall sadness, and a handful of sicknesses. I find it ridiculous that she is being so severally punished especially affecting something we all looked forward to coming on exchange. I hope Rotary changes their mind and I can experience Europe with my close friend!

I think she should have the right to this.
