This is an insane overreaction to a clerical error where no harm was intended. The NCAA does not apply equal penalties and it hurts kids.

It was a paperwork mistake. Penalize him for a game if you must...but 9 games???!!! Makes no sense to anyone...
ESPECIALLY considering it was self reported. Once again the NCAA is sending the message to NOT self-report.
Lost in all of this confusion of such a weird punishment is the fact that Yoeli now won't have the opportunity to showcase his skills against premier competition in the Maui invitational.
