As we know, we are in unusual circumstances and our secretaries are overloaded and short staffed. We need them and cannot afford to have them burn out. Inflexibility and not allowing employees to work, can further exacerbate short staffing, and negatively impact employee morale. Please accommodate excellent employees with reasonable requests. Thank you for your sincere consideration to accommodate the request to allow Richard to work in the capacity that he and his doctor indicate he is able to. Respectfully,

Mr. Lam is a valued member of the LAMC community, who fell ill through no fault of his own. If our community shares the common value of compassion, management should consider an allowance for an alternative work agreement, so long as he can perform his duties.
