It makes no sense on such a small stretch of roadway where various businesses will lose money as a result of it. Over the years I have seen many businesses close already. This will make it worse.

I would suggest that you at least look at making your decision based on the model & success that Huntsville and Bracebridge has had by removing meters in their downtown cores.

Why all of a sudden is this needed. We have gone so many years without meters there. I don't even like what they did to the parking area across the street from the strand. The meters were bad enough but now it's changed to having to walk over to the machine, get a ticket, walk back to your car and put the ticket on the dashboard. For a town that supposedly is gearing to seniors, the town is making it that much harder on them.

Having just moved to Parry Sound from southern Ontario where they installed parking metres downtown, then subsequently removed them because the local businesses were actually losing money, I would like to sign this petition opposing the metres.

I love to visit Parry Sound, and browsing the stores. Of course we always spend lots of money when we visit. If there is paid parking, we will have to find somewhere else to visit!

I work on James Sstreet and I park on Bay street, The BOCC is always full and I am not walking miles from my car to work. This is one of the few places that I can park my car. And with the amount that I pay in taxes to this town every year, don't even mention me buying a parking pass.

The idea of making a few buck will cause gridlock and parking chaos in the summer and more people will park illegally on private property

I grew up near the ocean and lived in several waterfront communities. Paid parking along waterfronts and business districts is a deterrent. Why have we had free parking in the downtown in the summer and on weekends in the past? Was it not to encourage visitors to stick around and to give local residents a break. I think our local business owners deserve better treatment than having their patrons be nickeled, dimed and quartered. Rather than be able to enjoy the view, the service and the experience Parry Sound has to offer, they will be worrying about how many minutes until they have to run back to their meters. Our waterfront is a gift; we should be sharing it.
