Coaches, kids, and parents preparing for the fall season have been working so hard to practice safely and provide some semblance of normalcy to our student athletes. It would be a shame to dismiss their hard work and commitment.

Physical activity is a necessary component of good health for our children. In fact it is one of the best ways to burn off stress chemicals including cortisol which can lead to weight gain, fatigue and depressed mood.

Please let our kids play sports. Many of them have put in a lot of hard work this off season to compete in the fall.

I don't believe that the Des district can be handled like the rest of the state. Please listen to the comments from the DM School district and do what is right for the students in DM.

My son is a Lincoln alum and sports were very important to him, all kids deserve the right to compete.

Please allow us the opportunity to try to make this work. Participation in sports and ability to compete are fundamentally important to our DMPS youth. Plus, to miss out on her senior year of competition would be devastating to my daughter, who has competed since she was 5 years old and intends to continue at a collegiate level.

These kids deserve the right to pursue their goals both in the classroom and through extracurricular competition.
