Please provide our children the opportunity to participate in in-person extracurricular activities, including fall sports for the following reasons:
1. Engagement in extracurricular activity is a key to academic success. It also allows the school to follow students to determine if anyone is at risk for dropping out. This is incredibly important given the climate and the modality in which many students will be learning.
2. Engagement and extracurricular activities is vital to ensuring student emotional mental and physical well-being. Again, by this fall students have already been experiencing a lack of social connectedness from their friends and ensuring their health and well-being is of vital importance.
3. Allowing extracurricular activities to go forth provides equitable access to all students.
4. Practices and other activities have been going well thus far and the precautions in place to minimize contact and exposure have been effective.
