Keep the monuments to these common soldiers who were not fighting for slavery, but who were fighting a defensive war for not only their independence but also their very homes, which were directly victimized by the war’s destruction.

These people trying to tear down ALL Confederate monuments or anything even resembling the South. These groups are completely prejudiced against anything Southern or Caucasian. I, for one, am willing to fight this discrimination.

The Civil War statue in Hanover Square, Brunswick is protected from removal by both State of Georgia Law and US Federal Laws. That means that NO ONE can Control the Power to "Vote" it out. End of Story. Public Opinion is a moot point. It will remain where it has stood for the past 118 years in Hanover Square as a Legally Protected US Civil War Monument honoring those 1,100 soldiers that Volunteered but mostly DRAFTED from Glynn County. They sacrificed their lives and fortunes not because they gleefully wanted to go get shot and killed, or starved to death, or froze to death because of inadequate food and clothing, or were in horrible deadly prisons because they got ill from disentery and other ailments that took their lives just because they stood FOR slavery - Oh NO!!!! No! No! No! They went because they were Citizens of this County and State and Country - just like you and they were MADE to walk thousands of miles, sleep out in the wilds, take up arms in which to defend themselves from being killed, leave their homes, families, children, work, loved ones and community behind, never to see home and loved ones again. They were giving of their lives to fight the saddest, bloodiest and most horriffic civil war in all of our Nation's History. Only 85 of those 1,100 that went off to WAR ever returned home to Glynn County. *** Leave National History and this Civil War Statue Alone !!! It must remain where it is standing. This Statue Monument serves as a Guidepost and a reminder that marks a moment in Our Nations History where indeed ALL Men in THIS Country were FREE and Federal Rule won over States Rights in order to create a more perfect Union - one and inseparable. Those that want it removed are only trying to remove HISTORY and tear apart our Nation at our strongest link - racial equality for ALL, because of a perceived "racial injustice." Go educate yourself on the TRUE reason behind the Civil War. It was NOT over Slavery. Known fact: Blacks owned Black Slav
