Through the years there have been a number of students who have walked that should not have walked due to behavioral issues and grades. I cannot believe he is being denied walking.

I'm 1992 VAHS alumni. Please make sure this kid walks. VAHS has been a dynamic & learning resource for so many students. It disappoints me to think that the school has lost sight. Please reconsider & use this as an opportunity to support your students.

Dean Gorell - Let this boy walk through graduation on Sunday with his classmates. He's doing the work, and is committed to finishing his 1/2 credit.
It's ridiculous for the school board to be a stickler at this point when this kid has been through a medical hardship and is trying to abide by all the guidlines to finish high school. All of his fellow classmates support him 100% and support his mother's efforts, to see him graduate with his peers. This is not the time to be "abiding strickly by the rules" - you look like heartless jerks! Do not pull him from the graduation ceramony on Sunday or you will lose the respect of this community. Thankyou!

As a parent of a high school graduate with a health related 504 and a special Ed teacher, I find this disheartening. Is this best for kids or administration?

The school board needs to remember that they create "policies" that help to run the schools, not laws that must be applied without consideration in all cases. Policies by nature are meant to be guidelines that aide in making decisions.
