It sounds like this kid has done an excellent job keeping up with his class, especially if he only has 2 weeks of summer school to finish up his half credit. He should be acknowledged for his dedication, not punished. Don't take away his chance to participate in such an important memory. By denying him this, you're only tarnishing his association of what education means. Let him walk!

The Verona school administrators should be ashamed of their decision and reconsider. My niece is in Noah's class and was very upset when she learned he was not walking. I traveled from out of state for the upcoming ceremony and was disgusted to learn of this situation.

Seriously?? Because my daughter, a senior in college, was already scheduled to be in Peace Corps on her "walk date" in May 2016, she was allowed to "walk" graduation with mid-term students in Dec 2015. When students with disabilities who are going to HS until age 21, you allow them to "walk" with their class and not receive their physical diploma until they complete. Noah's case is no different than either of these 2 scenarios. And really, you send Morris to pick him up and transport him away in a squad car? SERIOUSLY??

it's hard enough this kid gets sick, but to not let him graduate with his class when he's that close.

I am an RN, and as such I completely understand "following policies", but only to a point. I also know that it is not this young boys fault that he already had to miss countless days of school, socializing, and everything else due to his disease that he certainly did not ask for or can do anything to prevent. He should be allowed to walk across stage with his friends. Hold his diploma until he finishes the credits, fine, but don't punish him and keep him from one more thing because of a sickness he has no control over.

I also have the same disease that Noah has. There are MANY times that I am not able to meet my obligations on time as an adult. To make a senior not being allowed to graduate with his class because he is 1/2 credit short while he is showing that he can complete this credit within a reasonable time in my opinion in NOT AN UNREASONABLE REQUEST!
Let Noah graduate with his class! If you would like to talk to me as an adult who suffers from this disease, please feel free to contact me at [email protected]

There was a similar case in Chandler, AZ, and I not only signed a petition but urged the Administration & Board to confer with ASU President, Michael Crow. ASU is the #1 university in the country for innovation (#2 Stanford, #3 MIT). They didn't get that way by being rigid, and high schools don't assist students by being rigid either. Let Noah walk with his class, (and he might want to consider ASU for college!).

Let Noah walk! I was able to walk across the stage at uw just prior to finishing the requirements for my doctorate. It is actually very common at the higher levels to walk prior to finishing.

Please let Noah graduate. He has worked so hard this year. I am so impressed that he has done what he has done with being gone alot.
Please reconsider.
