Poetry does not need to be censored. The school/district is taking individuality out of teaching. Students need more teachers like Fish.

Mr. Fish is one the largest reasons I am in the education field and he has made the biggest impact on me as a person. Easley High School would be foolish to lose such an asset.

I've never loved a teacher as much as I love Fish. He's the only teacher who has taught me to not censor myself, to be creative, to express how I feel even when it's hard, who is there for his students no matter what. He deserves his job back because nobody will ever teach it as good as he does.

Because of Fish, last year I actually began to enjoy learning about literature. Because of Fish, my life has been changed. My mind has been stretched and I have learned so much about life through his English 3 and Yearbook Production classes. No more settling. I am a person with my own opinion and I deserve to let it be heard. Because of Fish, I fight for what is right. I am fighting for Fish.

Greg Fish was my English teacher in 2002-2003 and he is by far the most memorable, engaging, and educational teacher I have ever had. I have stark memories of his class and his enthusiasm for learning and it would be an absolute tragedy for this ridiculous incident to further affect him in any way. Let him resume teaching his students as they will benefit greatly from his expertise and enthusiasm.

I never had mr fish as a teacher but every time I saw him at school he had a big smile on his face and was always making all of his students happy and making sure they succeed

As a Young Life leader that volunteered at Easley High School for three years I had one goal; to love on high schoolers. I entered their world through going to lunches twice a week and going to sporting events every chance I got. I experienced teachers and administration who didn't understand why myself and my team (roughly 11 other Clemson students) roamed the halls of the school on any given weekday. They didn't take the time to say hello, to get to know us or our purpose...they didn't encourage us or support us. However, every time I encountered Mr. Fish he was so quick to extend kindness, acknowledgement, support, and encouragement. This was only through minute, sometimes even a couple seconds, encounters and I so easily got a clear picture of the character of Mr. Fish. I can only imagine the immense impact he had on the students he got to teach daily. Mr. Fish was more than a teacher to these students. High school is hard, so hard...Mr. Fish spoke life and purpose into these students. He had a gift to love students in the exact way they needed to be loved and he had the rare ability to make those he encountered, whether a minute or a semester, feel important. I saw students excited about learning and talking about his class in lunches. I saw students be robed by Mr. Fish, a man they considered a life mentor. I saw students light up because of his class and his impact. My heart absolutely aches to think of how dim the halls of EHS will be without the light of Mr. Fish and the light he sparked in the ones lucky enough to call him a teacher and a friend.

This is absurd. Fish is the most inspiring teacher I have ever had, and it's ridiculous that he has been forced to resign over modeling authentic writing experiences to his students. As an English teacher, I stand with Fish.

From a mom of two boys that have not had the pleasure of having Mr. Fish but yet heard all the wonderful stories of how his teaching ethics have helped them after high school into college. He has definitely made a huge impact of a lot of kids and it's very disappointing that our school system don't have a heart for our children anymore. We were looking forward to having him next year.
