I didn't attend Easley High but my husband (class of 2002) did and he had Mr. Fish! I've heard him rant and rave about Mr. Fish! He said he was the hardest teacher but best teacher he ever had!! And my husband didn't even like school!! What does that tell you!!? As an educator myself, I can't imagine the support he is feeling right now!! Way to let your words be heard students!!!

Mr. Fish is one of those rare, life-changing teachers. Ten years since I was his student, and yet I'm reminded of his bubbly attitude and the knowledge he imparted to us nearly every day. He absolutely deserves to teach at Easley.

I just want to say that Mr. Fish was my favorite teacher because he not only was an amazing teacher and CHALLENGED (because let's be honest, isn't that what teachers are suppose to be doing) his students to work to their full potential, he also envoked the love of the English language in me. He was the main reason why I fell in love with reading again, and the fact that he remembers me every time he sees me even after ten years shows that he is a great guy. So what if that poem had one curse word in it? That's the English language for you, it's gritty, raw, and unabashingly offensive from time to time, but that is what makes the language so beautiful sometimes. To the person who got offended, maybe you just were not up to par for Mr. Fish because he was a teacher who made you think on different planes and I appreciated him for that!

Mr. Fish taught me to love Hemingway and Fitzgerald. He taught me how to search for symbolism and deeper meaning behind words. He always held us to a high standard, because he had a genuine love and respect for his content.
Of all my former teachers, he is one that I look to for inspiration for my own teaching career. I'm a better reader, writer, and teacher because of him. It is an absolute travesty if Easley High loses this man as a teacher.

I had Mr. Fish for my senior year of English and he was awesome. He was more interested in us and our education than most other teachers. He knew how to touch our heart.

I am not sure what has happened but few teachers have the ability to reach high school students like this man. He was a very positive person,coach and influence on my daughter when she was a student at EHS.

Didn't have him personally but he still impacted my high school career. He knew my name and spoke to me in the halls as if I was one of his students. I was always so jealous that I didn't get to analyze song meanings and smell coffee during my English classes. He's a great example of what I teacher should be.

Greg Fish was my son's honors English teacher, cross country coach, and now we call him friend. I am praying that EHS reconsiders this decision, but I have no doubt that another institution will be honored to have him as a teacher.
