I have two sons who had the privilege to be taught by Mr. Fish. Easley High should be ASHAMED of their actions.

I think our society has gotten far too sensitive and school- a place to challenge and grow minds IS NOT a place to reinforce that!

Greg Fish was the best English teacher I ever had. He literally changed the way I think about classic literature. Easley high school should be ashamed for firing one of the best teachers to ever grace their halls. Please give him his job back!

I am an Easley High graduate (class of 2015) and I had Mr. Fish for AP literature. Not only did Mr. Fish help me to understand how to interpret and appriciate poetry, but he inspired me to speak up more and join group discussions. Mr. Fish is a valuable asset to the student body of Easley High and it would be a FOOLISH mistake to let him go.

Fish wad the best teacher I've ever had. He helped me in extreme financial situations and helped me get through an eating disorder. He deserves to teach and make the same impact on others.

As an Easley alum, former student assistant for Mr. Fish, an English Lit. and Master of Teaching graduate of the University of South Carolina, and a writer, I am staunchly against the type of censorship that Easley High School administration has practiced by firing Greg Fish. One of the most important things you can learn in English class is that poetry and literature are meant to evoke emotion and engage critical thinking. Just because one doesn't agree with the words an author or poet chooses, it isn't sufficient grounds to fire an educator who is trying to teach his students the meaning behind the text. Easley High School should reinstate Mr. Fish or lose him to a school that will appreciate his talent for connecting students with literature.

I was one of the skeptics while in class. .....Why must we work so hard for such....grades, why must we read all of these books (with.....various topics that I'd previously avoided).
Leaving EHS, going to Clemson, and then working as a microbiologist has left me with a different opinion! I know how to read (read-and analyze that is, because it's the best and only way to do so) because of Mr. Fish. I aced my English courses at Clemson, and my lab research papers- due to this teacher. I've paid attention to song lyrics, written in all of my books, journaled, and gotten way more out of reading the Bible and many other books because of this teacher. I also have been able to survive working with vocal athiests for 6 years now because of this man- something that while at EHS, I would've run from like the plague....losing the opportunity to learn from people with different beliefs and also the ability to make small, subtle influences on these people. I also probably would have avoided studying science if it weren't for Mr. Fish's strange and unique method for teaching us to go ahead and find out about something for our selves, before letting other's opinions scare us away from things. A Southern Baptist then, I'd been taught (from church) that essentially you should avoid Biology classes at college because you would have to "deny Christ" in favor of evolution.... Clemson from 2005-2009 never once attacked my Christianity (any falling away that I did was completely on my own and not due to a biology class), in fact - these Biology courses taught more of the "how" such a great God could've chosen to create things- and made me stand back in awe at all of the complexity.
I don't know the details as to why he's not in the classroom. I know he made a difference in my lfe, and I'm grateful for that everyday (and, I wish everyone that I know could've had the opportunity to learn from him). I also know that there are seasons to life, and sometimes- it's just time to go. Rega
