I am an Easley alumni and Fish was an amazing man and teacher. I can't believe that Easley would do this to one of their best staff members. I would love to know how many more teachers use a cuss word and gotten away with it! Let's get Mr. Fish back! #fight for fish

Is it more offensive that youths be exposed to controversial material and challenged to think for themselves, or that for the sake of political correctness they be denied breadth of experience and instead processed like widgets on an uninspiring assembly line? Show your own broad-mindedness and restore this purpose driven educator.

Firing a teacher that has had the kind of impact Mr. Fish has had on his students is the most obsurd thing I have ever heard. If anything, he should have received a reprimand for the content of his poem and that is all. Taking away someone's livelihood because someone was offended by something written in a poem is out of line.

Not letting Mr. Fish teach would be a disservice to the students. With just his passion alone, he lights a fire inside students that is so hard to find. Thankful to have had him as a teacher and influencer in my life.

This is horrible news! My son attends EHS & would've been taking his class next year. I also work at The Starving Artist were he brings his AM class for breakfast twice a month. You can tell he's highly admired by his students. I wish I had a teacher like him!

Educator friends of mine! Sign this petition if you support quality teachers! This reminds me of "Dead Poet's Society" in a way. A good teacher, not shielding his students from the world, trying to help them deal with it and penalized for it.

Such a shame (and so typical) that the school would let the interests of one overly-offended student outweigh the years of dedication and service Fish has given to his students and the school. While I was an avid reader from a young age, Fish was one of the few teachers that encouraged me to aim higher and think deeper, not just in my academics but in all aspects of life. He also was one of those rare educators who is able to straddle the line between teacher and friend. He's the best thing EHS has going and while I know he can do better, they most certainly can't.
