Let Mr. Fish teach at Easley High School

I CAN'T BELIEVE HE IS STILL AROUND. LET THIS MAN TEACH AND MAKE EVER MORE CHANGES THAN HE ALREADY HAS IN THESE STUDENTS LIVES.

He was a great teacher and pushed me to go to college and now I have my Dr. Degree.

Let Mr. Fish come back and teach! He's an awesome teacher and ALL his student past and present love him and learned/learn so much from him!!

Mr. Fish is an incredible person and teacher. I've never had a teacher take the time out of every class to go around the room and shake every students hand, making them all feel very welcome as individuals. Even that one small act always puts a smile on my face. This job means so much to him and he works so hard for us, I know he must be heartbroken. I ask that the school board please reconsider. Mr. Fish has been a dedicated worker for many years and has helped hundreds of students find new success. He's helped me find new things to love about English. If he needs a punishment because of one complaint then so be it, but I don't believe firing him is the way to do it. I can't imagine how our class will continue without him.

Fire a teacher for reading a poem with a curse word in it? Ridiculous.

We need more engaging and caring teachers like Mr. Fish. Bring him back on staff.

I will never understand how they will fire a teacher from saying a cuss word in a poem, but let the students say whatever they want-whenever they want and let them get away with it. #fightforfish

Mr. Fish is not only a wonderful teacher, but a phenomenal influence on the young adults that roam those halls each and everyday. I graduated in 2013 and Mr. Fish has always been on the "favorite teachers that I aspire to become like one day" list! The school and most importantly the students, have lost an irreplaceable member of the EHS family! By signing this petition, I hope the principle and district will see the impact Mr. Fish has on the community and ultamelty reconsider their decision of letting go Mr. Fish, by considering a more fitting consequence to the "crime," instead of absolutely destroying his family and career that he has worked so hard to establish. #FightForFish

I am the cousin of a student who goes to EHS

My son has Mr .Fish for his AP English. At the beginning of the year when I first met Mr. Fish, I told him ," Good Luck with my son! He speaks his mind and if he thinks you're wrong, he'll tell you why he's right and why you're wrong". Mr. Fish's response was, "I welcome that! He has an opinion and is free to express it in my classroom and we can agree to disagree". That is one of the first times anyone has told my son he's allowed to have an opinion and he won't be discredited or looked at as an "unimportant teenager" who doesn't have a voice or that anyone doesn't care to hear what a "teenager" has to say. I automatically had a respect for Mr. Fish that I've not had for a lot of my son's other teachers throughout the years!!

I graduated from Easley last year in the class of 2015 & Mr. Fish did so much for us! The seniors would not have had anything without him! He also does an amazing job with yearbooks every year! I didn't have his class but I didn't need to have his class to know that he was a great man! I also know that there are other teachers that say cuss words all the time and never get caught... #fightforfish

I graduated Easley High in 2002. Mr. Fish was by far and away the greatest teacher I ever had the pleasure of being taught by. Welcome to Paradise he would say as he shut the door. We had shirts made with that saying and his name on them. He made learning fun, interesting, and exciting, we never felt we had to ask more from Mr. Fish he poured his heart and soul in to teaching. Mr. Fish's absence from a classroom will be the greatest void EHS will never fill.

EHS is losing such a wonderful person if they don't allow Mr. Fish to continue to teach. He most certainly had a positive impact on my life, and the things I learned in his class continue to help me throughout life even after I've finished college.

I have heard so much of the impact that he had on the students and the community. He deserves to be back where can continue to make a difference in the lives of the next generation.
