As the president of a Chamber of Commerce, Marketing Director, and Mom of 4.... I support and encourage teachers who teach our kids the freedom of speech and how to express their self. These are high school students. To think they cant handle this content or language is naive and ignorant. Weather they do or do not approve of the content or language (which by the way is not language that I use), they should understand they will be exposed to it. I suppose next art teachers will need to sensor the nudity out of great paintings from the past so it doesn't offend anyone too.

This is a high school class, not first grade. I am certain all students of this age have heard the F word before -- and will again in the real world.
Mr. Fish is obviously a popular teacher who gives a lot of his time to the school and his students. A small penalty for not censoring a profanity would have been enough. He has too much to offer students to be kept out of school over this trivial nonsense.
Let Mr. Fish get back to teaching and let his students get back to learning.

My daughter graduated from EHS. Mr. Fish was and is an asset to the school. Dismissing him would be a very bad mistake.

My daughters are in 7th grade at Gettys and I hope when they reach the high school that they have a teacher that means this much to them. I had one and he was a life changer. So proud of the students of EHS for pulling together for someone that believes in them

I graduated with Greg from college and we both started out teaching career together at different schools in Easley. I know for a fact that my former students that have and have had him know that they are better off for the rigorous class and the passion that he shows each day. I am dumbfounded that a group of AP students that are preparing for college are being censored at an off campus class meeting. These students need to be exposed to information and vocabulary they will face each day when in college. As a current school district employee I fully support Mr. Fish and his passion for teaching his students in the classroom.

Fish was one of the absolute best and most supportive teachers at ehs. He drove us to better ourselves and made English interesting.

The removal of this teacher is ludicrous. He read a poem with a foul word? A reprimand may have been called for, but nothing more. There are few great teachers out there, and he is one of them. Shame on Pickens county for caring so little for the education of these kids!

Our Children, Community, & School needs more teachers like Mr. Fish! This does not seem like a well thought trough course of action to have been taken for a Teacher doing his job, and to be let go for a single "WORD". That came from literature that is approved for Students to read by the school board!!!
