School is all about motivation and most teachers don't come to teach because they love the students, they come to teach because they just want they money.Having a teacher that actually love their job and students is very rare

One Mistake Should Not Overshadow A Career Of Wonderful Deeds. Mr. Fish Impacted My Life In Such A Positive Way It Would Be A Shame To Have One Piece Of Literature Destroy His Career.

It's unethical to "ask" a teacher to resign when nothing has been done wrong.

Dont let the kids watch TV or let them go outside if you want to protect them that much.

I'm sure that that is not the first time any high school student has heard the "F" word, but really terminate a teacher for reading it.... we need more GOOD teachers and less administrative involvement. They want to sit in the big office and past down the rules but it’s the GOOD teachers that are making a lifelong impression on these children that they are losing. They are being blamed for everything in and out of the class rooms. They are there to teach our children information created by someone else. He didn’t write the poem he just read it. If he had not made a lifelong example to these students I don t think they would have been off school property to study. If we had more students he had mentored maybe there would be less shooting, less poverty, less children who can’t read, less school drop outs less…. The list can go on… but really he read a poem that contained the “F” word.

I am not in any way affiliated with Easley High. With that being said, I can still tell how loved and appreciated this teacher is. From what I can see online, this must be a mistake.

This is nothing compared to what children are shown on the media every day. This poem may have been explicit in written for but it's a college level class and it will be in the best interest of the students to understand the importance of language and emotions the writer uses. Romance and passion has always been a winner in drama, media and English lit. I say it was a great way to get a classroom to focus on language and the meaning of words being used. Ex. A bunny was her favorite toy.... A plush pink soft bunny was her favorite toy,

Even though I dont use profanity I truly feel the punishment is way too severe for the action. Its absolutely rediculious to fire a teacher for a word said off campus in a poem he wrote. Thats the most craziest thing I have ever heard. Maybe a stern warning, but this should have been the most done in the situation.

Mr fish was never my teacher, but he's one of the only teachers I've heard hundreds of students mention and acknowledge about being a great teacher and mentor
