Let's be honest, it's stupidly unfair to not let a student Speak about a teacher who was not only a mentor but also a friend to us all! It's ridiculous how a school will basically kick a student off the stage because she's making a speech about someone who changed not only her life but our lives as well! It just isn't right, Chris Tully was the most amazing teacher/leaderwe had, he really taught us everything there is to know about MultiMedia Technology. The school needs to get their head out of the sandbox and let this Student speak her mind about our Teacher/friend who had the biggest impacted in everyone's lives throughout the years at MBIT!! Stop being rude, stop putting your foot down and LET HER DO THE SPEECH!! It honestly makes us as students feel worse about the whole situation, this speech should be a dedication to him, the school NEEDS to ALLOW her to read the Speech, he was the best of the best we deserve to hear about our friend. He meant a lot to everyone he knew and even me and all the students he had since the beginning!! It's about doing what's right and telling the graduating class what an amazing person he was and the impact he had on so many people/students!! He should be recognized for all the hard work he did to get the MMT program started and everything he did to make it happen, if it weren't for him we wouldn't of learned from the greatest teacher at MBIT! If you think about it most of the POSITIVE comments on here could easily be a speech or at least some of them could be combined into a speech, this school MIGHT want to RECONSIDER the decision they made and let the girl speak for once!! The way they handled it makes it seem like they tried to hide/cover it up...smh 10x.. Just let the speech happen already would ya!! Btw all the Anonymous ones, why did u chose that? How can someone that made that much positive impact on growing minds not be spoken about? This is the graduation for the STUDENTS who worked hard to get to this point. Seems like they ARE tryingbto make this a positive experience. If it's important to celebrate and thank someone that helped them so much, then so be it. Its the admins who are bringing negativity to this day.

I don't see why this isn't approved. This is more then the administration has done. We raised money for a kid that doesn't even go to our school (not saying that wasn't a super nice thing to do) but the most we did for tully was has a moment of silence..that honestly says a lot about our school that we can't take a hour out of our day to hear a speach that a student has put together for one of our teachers..

I am puzzled as to why the administration is forbidding this. This man was obviously adored by his students and should be remembered for his dedication to them.

What is the issue here? Very sad. They should be thrilled he made such an impact on his students. That's what he was there to do.

Why are you so afraid, MBIT? The kids want to honor the memory of a teacher who was a terrific motivational force in their lives. Fear has no place in an institution of learning.

I never had the honor of meeting mr. Tulley but I'm aware of how many lives he changed and many of my friends were affected by his passing. I think it is only right for the class to mention their great teacher who had put them in that graduating audience.

As an alumni I'm offended that she is not permitted to speak about a teacher who inspired so many. The administration would be making a very big mistake in sending this type of message.

I will never respect mbit if they do not let her speak for Mr. Tully. He was a great man. And if this is because he killed himself, he had a disorder. Look it up. Assholes

I think someone should be allowed to talk about our former teacher ( Mr. Tully). Now I think about it since Administration is not allowing this what in the world happened to freedom of speech?. We all have the right to speak and the right to express ourselves. Without freedom of speech what is the point of having the first amendment in the constitution?Honestly MBIT should really take the time to at least recognize and honor Mr. Tully since he was the one who not only brought this unique program ( Multimedia Technology) to life but also changed many lives including mine and thats something MBIT should never forget.
From what I am seeing here it really looks like Administration is showing a lot of disrespect to our former teacher since they are the ones who are not allowing this speech to happen. Our former teacher should be remembered for what he did for us and not forgotten.
Seriously administration show some respect to our Teacher.

All my gratitude to everyone honoring Mr Tully and supporting my daughter Lucia to let her speak at Graduation. I respectfully request MBIT to reconsider and allow Lucia to express her words of inspiration and love for her school , all teachers and the extraordinary students from our school. We should all be on the same side.
