As a therapist, I have a lot more capacity than a lay clergy to help heal abuse, yet I’m still a mandatory reporter and support that law.

Protect children and all victims FIRST

Christ did not help cover up evil acts. He brought them to light. If you represent Christ you have an obligation to do the same

Clergy and ecclesiastical leaders have a responsibility to protect those they serve, being a mandatory reporter is one of the most basic levels of protection that can be provided.

All abuse should be reported to proper agencies and not a lawyer phone line!

Not reporting sexual assault should be a crime. It is outrageous that we protect men/predator's to any degree

Just to clarify - you want leaders to call police or CPS before the church hotline? Or you want leaders to be mandated reporters? Or both?
