Twirling is alive and strong! Girls spend hours training , practicing, and perfecting their skills. Baton is not something everyone can do, those who work hard at there skill should be allowed to represent there school and band program. Keep working hard sweetheart, there are college band directors who love and appreciate twirlers. If you don't get the opportunity to twirl at your high school, may good bless you with a larger opportunity to perform at the collegiate level with a director who cares!

I love that band director, but he is making a huge mistake by not letting her twirl.

I think that if a program keeps the interest of only 1 kid, then that's 1 less kid that will be steered astray by other influences. If the kid has been trying to do this for the last few yes, has been actively participating in the program and has patiently waited for it to be her turn it's pretty shameful to cut it when she finally has seniority. Instead of taking the easy way out and cutting a program with less interest, why don't you build the program up?

Would the band director keep a talented trumpet player from performing?? This is Kristy's instrument! It is a crime not to let her perform!

It is so important to have twirls on the football field. When I was in the east hall high School marching band we had majorrettes, flagettes, the color guard, and a solo twirler. It was awesome seeing it all on the field during a halftime show or competition . Everyone deserves a chance.

Why would you ever "cut" something from a program where there is interest? These kids who have talent and passion should be encouraged and given the opportunity to shine.

As an EHHS alumni and proud parent of an upcoming Junior I find this rather shameful!! Shame shame shame on EHHS!! This girl should have been given the opportunity to twirl her Freshman year!! Coming from someone who actually attends these ball games and sits there through some tired halftime shows...some fresh talent is WELL NEEDED on the field! Best of luck Kristy and we hope to be cheering you on next year at Valhalla!!

I am a EH band alumni. Mercer Crook would never turn this girl away. EH has always had a reputation for their outstanding band. This would be the beginning of the end.
