Not having experience on the field in High School could limit her chances to twirl in College. Please let her twirl. It's not going to ruin your program to give her chance.

U know there is a problem when adults cannot create an alternative for youth who are doing the right thing. Let her and the other interested twirlers march especially if they are qualified... high school only comes around one time...

Please let her twirl. She deserves to be on the field and do what she loves.

This young lady has persevered in her twirling. She should have every chance to do so on the football field. Shame on the band director!

Twirling in general is an AMAZING sport! As a high school twirler I would love to see this happen!

Good Luck!! That is so unfair to your daughter! Halftime twirling is the best and for the band director to take it away is plain mean!

My daughter was the first Twirler in almost 15 years for her High School. Her Jr year another girl joined her and they worked together to choreograph their routines around the Band maneuvers. They only did a few competions and they were in it. The other High school in our district also added twirlers and that band competed more they just did not have the twirlers at the competitions. The opportunity to twirl for her High School helped with her showmamship. My daughter is now a Feature Twirler at West Virginia University!

Please let Kristy twirl - I think baton twirling is a great addition to the field with the band. It is not fair to tell her she can't twirl with the band.

Please let the girl twirl!! The crowd is completely amazed and entertained by their talent and what an amazing way to show case your musicians music by having it interrupted through Twirling!! And with her credentials..I'm thinking it might help your auxiliary scores at competitions, if not, just use her on the field!!! Mom/dad share this with the school board!!?

A band without twirlers is not a band at all. Something is definitely missing!

This is absolutely ridiculous. I went to East Hall and there has always been twirlers. They need to be treated just as well as the cheerleaders

So sad. Call the Gainesville Times. Better yet get a lawyer. This is discrimination.
