I was in color guard in high school, was even blessed enough to make captain my senior year. Band and the footbal games were without a doubt the best part of my high school experience. If this were happening to my daughter I would fight for her too. I wish you the best, and hope your daughter is able to take the field in this last year of high school.

I have witnessed this girls talent and there is absolutely no reason it should be ignored. She deserves to help benefit her marching band and continue her career in college. Which is a known fact that highscool competitions and games are an easy way for scouts to recruit. Let her twirl.

This type of unprofessional and childish behavior should not be allowed by an educator. He should have been honest from the beginning. I think the administration and maybe BOE need to research this situation as well as any other parent complaints. Maybe the director has some valid reasons to cut the program, regardless he has mishandled this situation and has absolutely mistreated this young lady and her young tender heart. So disappointing.

I'm sorry this happened! I started twirling when I was in 5th grade. I'm sure there are competition rules, but there's no reason why anyone should be excluded. This is a passion just as dance or cheer is. I'm sure they would be lucky to have a dedicated individual like this! Even if competition rules say there's not enough of them to compete, it is somebody's obligation as an educator to let them participate on the team before competitions.

Seriously let whoever wants to twirl tryout. Somebody must be in someone else's pocketbook. Just saying. Let her twirl.
Don't crush a child's dream!!
