The director should not do this to these girls if they have worked so hard to be good at twirling then let them get on the field and have fun at what they love to do instead of crushing them.

The skill and dedication to twirling is overlooked most of the time ! The amount of practice and training is unbelievable. Let this girl twirl

A twiller can be a great addition to a team. It adds a bit of "sparkle" and lots of fun to watch. I think you would be losing a great opportunity if you do not allow this young lady to twirl.

A twirler can be a great addition to a band so long as there is good technique and so long as everyone understands that they are a band member - their routines should go with the music and not just highlight their own skills. They should be written into the flow - not just off by themselves and not always in front. It takes extra effort on everyone's part to make it worth but then it's wonderful. The twirler often has to pay for private instruction themselves so the band isn't having to foot the bill for one person. I'm so thankful that my daughter got to twirl for her school and it was a great lesson in team work. I wish you the best and hope it works out well. Our director had my daughter go through a tryout based on criteria Pete Kerr (judge and then UT coach) put together. Maybe a suggestion like that would also help?

I know kristy since she was in elementary and has twirled with my daughter with the North Ga Stars, my daughter had the opportunity to twirl and the experience for her was very helpful for her to be accepted as MAJORETTE. she has worked so hard and dreamed of this for years and should be given the opportunity too as well.

Sounds like someone just isn't interested in twirling. Even though this may not be something someone else likes, everyone should be given the opportunity to do what they love espically it being a part of the band for as long as I can remember. I would love to see her perform!

Twirling is a fantastic sport that shows skill, balance, agility and much more. This young lady deserves the opportunity to twirl for her home team. It takes a dedicated person to get to the level necessary to be awarded state titles. Twirling is alive and well and growing!
