I personally love seeing the twirler out on the field with the Colorguard. It shows that each of us have our talent that needs to be showcased. I was on the Colorguard team while I was in high school and the twirlers that we had always done great things for our show to make it even better.

I think any student should be allowed to try out , and if they are good , they should be allowed to be on that field.

There was a bunch of twirlers when I was in school at East Hall 1976-1981. This is crazy that they would cut it all together. Those girls deserve to twirl. What are they spending the budget on anyway? The parents have to pay for the equipment and the uniform so how much could it cost to have them? Crazy Come On East Hall don't make a laughing stock out of our school. Every school has twirlers.

I was a majorette at East Hall for (4) years in the late 70's and 80's. It was the highlight of my high school experience. I'm not sure what happened to majorettes in high school band - but college bands always have at least one or two feature twirlers! I really don't understand why having tryouts and getting 2-4 majorettes would not enhance the band experience. I've watched East Hall band in the last few years and think they do a wonderful job!

I understand what she is going through, I was apart of the West Hall band. I wanted to do the same thing but they cut it out before anyone could say anything.

I think it's sad, when someone has work all her life to become a twirled and doesn't get the chance to be in her school band,I was in the East Hall band for 4 years and this is very upseting to me,please give this girl a chance to fulfill her dreams by being in the band

Iam going thru the exact same thing. My daughter is a 5 time national champion, placed in the top 5 at the pa teen miss America pageant all due to baton twirling. I simply just don't understand?

Kristy should twirl. You'd have an attractive young lady with obvious talent doing the twirling. I'm sure there would be interest in that.

The band director needs to realize that it's not all about the program, it's about the individual and the impact it can have on this young lady.

I think you should reconsider your decision! This is an important part of this young lady's life. Shame on you for being so thoughtless!
