As a Deaf woman, I have had bad experiences with Uber or CoopTaxi. Drivers need awareness training with how to interact with deaf people and both companies need to overhaul their app to make it more accessible to Deaf and disabled people. Coop Taxi discriminated against me and tried to gaslight me saying it was my fault the app didnt work right and failed to see how they behaved poorly.

We fully support the need for safe and accessible options for seniors and people with disabilities. The current public transportation is insufficient and needs improvement. In the meantime, we would like to see the recommendations move forward, so that people who require door-to-door service have an affordable and reliable option.

As an inclusive city, we need to do more to support the transportation needs of our residents with disabilities. It's both a matter of equity and of safety.

The right for any individual, with a disability to be able travel within Edmonton or ANYWHERE for that matter is a right. It should not be viewed as a foreign concept.

It is important that people with disabilities have the opportunity to travel around the city and have reliable methods of transportation.

After being stranded in the cold by taxi services on several occasions… please address this as a safety issue.

Fortunately I am still able to drive my own vehicle yet, but the day will soon come when I will need a taxi. My prayer for myself and all persons with disabilities and the elderly is that there will be a responsive and safe system available.

As a person who is blind I have taken taxis, the driver does not take the direct route, I’d like to see better ways or communicating with the driver that I am blind, assistance to car, driver training and understanding would help.

My disabled father was almost backed over by a taxi when he fell getting out of the cab. The driver didn't look or check or even help my father out of the cab. Good thing mom yelled at him before he backed over Dad.
