Much more needs to be done to create inclusive and safe transportation for women in all cities. I have been sexually harassed in a taxi in Edmonton and have witnessed extensive wait times for those with limited mobility.

My mother is in a wheelchair. It is difficult to access taxis on a timely basis.Royal Wagon and DATS do outstanding work but they are a limited resource. Lack of accessible transportation affects quality of life. Please make Edmonton an accessible City for everyone to enjoy.

Peace of mind is necessary not only for the rider but also for their family and friends who have had to fight for inclusion and safety for all those who are physically challenged. In todays world, this is needed,

I support this petition in regard to the AAC letter to City of Edmonton Council.

I believe for a city our size we should have a min. of 60 wheelchair taxi vans. Hussein, with Royal Wagon has great empathy and understanding of the and so-called barriers faced by individuals who are physically challenged. The City should either give the contract exclusively to, or the majority of the wheelchair taxi vans to Royal Wagon. So that they can have more wheelchair taxi vans on the road. The fare should be equal to an able-bodied user and when you book a wheelchair taxi-van it's there on time or within 40 mins of the time that was originally booked. It should be a 24 hr. service. DATS only goes till midnight. That's only on Fridays and Saturdays. Also, DATS is limited to only within the City of Edmonton itself.

This is such an important initiative. Women in wheelchairs need to feel safe; providing increased accessibility for transportation is an important step towards creating a safe community for all.
