The school administration reversed their decision and Mr. Butler will now address our graduating class. I am deeply thankful to everyone who helped ensure he receives a proper farewell. We should hold onto this feeling of unity as we move toward the ceremony.

Mr. Butler has a once in a life time opportunity to finish his doctorate at University of Texas, so he accepted a job in Austin. Rick McDaniel has decided to not allow him speech at the 2016 graduation.

Mr. Butler is being forced to leave without saying good bye to us and the new principle starts May 10th.

Sign this petition to support Butler to speak at our graduation instead of this princple no one knows.

Parent of a senior: This may be a "done deal", but I would prefer getting to hear Mr. Butler speak at graduation. I understand that the incoming principal is usually brought in early, but graduation is a different matter. From my perspective, Mr. Butler is a standout in a sea of average administrators.

As a former educator, I think it is so important to remember what should always be in the forefront of our minds: do what's best for kids. Give this graduating class the honor of listening to someone they admire. Don't we want them to really hear that graduating message? So let's have it be someone they will buy in to hearing.

I wondered what was up with his announcement of leaving early in the Lion's Mane email. This is a real disservice to the seniors and their families. Mr Butler should be the one sending them off. We don't want to hear from someone we don't know.

We just moved here and my daughter started her junior year at McKinney High. Mr Butler got to know her personally and made extra effort to support her transition to a new high school her junior year. He is a class act and should be able to speak at graduation

I graduated class of 2014 at Boyd high school which was Mr . McDaniels last year as principal there & he got to say bye to us & shake our hands & take pictures with us at graduation . This man shouldn't be any different.

Mr. Butler has been the best principle I've ever had. He's helped me with ever problem I've had as a principle but also as a friend. I can't think of anyone else I would rather have shake my hand along with the other seniors as we start our new lives.

I feel someone who knows the graduates should handle the ceremony.
