This is a huge embarrassment, and makes New Zealand look like an out-of-touch backwater. Her film won two key awards at Sundance, along with Audience or Best Documentary prizes at Amsterdam, Portland and Sarasota, and will also be playing at the Hot Docs Festival in Toronto at the end of this month. 'Sonita' is now sure to sell out, and audiences are going to want to hear from its director. The hue and cry is just beginning.

What is NZIS doing? This woman has won awards at the Sundance Film Festival. Frankly if she ended up overstaying we should be grateful to have her talent on board. But why would such a talent be concerned to overstay in NZ?

the pettiness of the immigration service is beyond belief ,idiots, perhaps if she had a few million to buy up houses then she would be fine

If his personnel safety can be assured, he should come, and it will make NZ look great!

Please allow Rokhsareh Ghaemmaghami to visit. She will provide much needed support for our Afghan students who have lived in Iran on their way to NZ. This is their story!

I am tired of the racist stereotyping that the Immigration Department displays - it's called institutional racism, people. Get over it.

What's the fuss? No one would travel to outer-limits NZ without return transport proven.
