This woman is also travelling to other countries, to show her film and talk about her work. She does not want to stay in NZ. This film-maker is an excellent example to many of our film-makers, an industry which earns New Zealand billions of dollars. Allow her entry.

The Ministry of Immigration NZ need to do better research before making such unsafe and embarrassing findings regarding the impending visit of the director of the documentary film Sonita.

The visa refusal of this person is damaging nz's credibility as an open an accepting country and is already damaging our screen industry as a place to do business. Sort it out

Disrespectful to an award winning director.

Not surprising given the idiots employed by the NZ Immigration Service, and the self-serving, gutless government ministers they report to!

As a documentary producer/director I've attended Documentary Edge Festivals and Forums, including last year. I've encountered no problems entering NZ! Being an Englis male could be reason!

Ms Ghaemmaghami has been invited to the Documentary Edge Festival. This is part of her international publicity for her 2015 film, and is not a risk for overstaying. Please reconsider!

Surely if she is going on to promote her film in other locations it would lower her risk profile...

I am absolutely gob smacked! This woman is a documentarian of her people. She may stay now I suppose, document New Zealand and our racist immigration policy! Sigh....

Let The woman in for goodness sake! Since when has NZ Immigration been gifted with mind readers? A totally ridiculous decision by the authorities in my humble opinion. Time to get real and stop being so bloody minded because you can!

Please let this talented woman into New Zealand, since 2008 under the National government immigration New Zealand has used a raft of excuses to deny entry into New Zealand for highly qualified and talented people from other countries, these people include academics, a disabled right campainger now a movie maker, the motives for denying entry are pure facism, the current government led by PM John Key will not allow people into New Zealand if there is a chance that these highly educated people will dessent against the current corrupt regime. John Key will allow wealthy criminals to become New Zealand citizens, but first they have to pay large election donations to his endemically corrupt National party.

Please grant this visa. I suspect that the NZ Immigration Service has made it abundantly clear to Ms Ghaemmaghami that this is NOT a country she would want to stay in thus addressing your reason for refusing her a visa. I'm also extremely disappointed that I will not be able to hear her speak on documentary or attend a masterclass by her.

The SIS in New Zealand is a paranoid racist organisation that only represents the middle age self obsessed rich white man, and their paranoia at having their own demonstrably unjust status quo challenged.
